The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS)-affiliated Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS) has announced it is seeking an “Associate Editor for Research & Engagement” as part of its expanding digital communication strategy.
According to the announcement published on 12 May 2026, the successful candidate will work closely with the JPRAS editorial team. The role stands out as more than a traditional academic editorial position, combining scientific publishing with digital media and audience engagement responsibilities.
International Applicants Encouraged as JPRAS Opens Flexible Editorial Position
Applicants are expected to be medically qualified with clinical experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, alongside a background in research and a strong interest in digital engagement. While no requirement for UK citizenship or residency has been specified, the role is widely viewed as open to international applicants.
Industry sources indicate that the position is structured more as a flexible consultancy-based role rather than a full-time office appointment.
